TravelNet Technologies' Provides Additional Networking and End-User Applications to Canadian Municipal Wireless Project.

TravelNet's Ubilium Solution Supplies Bandwidth Management and End-user Survey Capabilities to Project Chapleau.

Montreal, Quebec - March 27th, 2006; TravelNet Technologies announced today that they will be supplying additional technology to support Project Chapleau, one of Canada’s first wide-scale municipal wireless mesh networks. Project Chapleau is a collaborative effort between Bell Canada and Nortel to evaluate the effect of broadband access technology on rural and remote communities in Canada. Initially, TravelNet’s Ubilium managed service solution was providing the access control technology, customized system integration and a variety of "back-end" reporting and management tools to support Chapleau’s wireless mesh network. Now, TravelNet will add Ubilium’s bandwidth management and end user survey technology to this feature-set to help meet the project’s networking objectives.

From a networking perspective, TravelNet Technologies will now be providing bandwidth management to ensure that the project’s wireless network is allocated efficiently across the enduser community. Using Ubilium’s bandwidth management, network administrators can cap the maximum amount of bandwidth that any one individual in the community can use for uploading or downloading to avoid network abuse and ensure the excellent quality of service which was originally committed to as part of this project.

In order to gather end-user information about the Chapleau’s wireless mesh network, TravelNet Technologies will be using the survey module of Ubilium to create a custom end-user survey that will be pushed to users as they sign-on to the wireless network. The survey will collect information from both residents and nomadic users traveling through the area. Ubilium reporting tools will collect, consolidate and generate a statistical analysis of the survey responses.

TravelNet Technologies will continue to work with the Project Chapleau team over the next 9 months to further build upon these features and provide additional technology support with its Ubilium managed service solution as needed.
